Billie
-A little bit of beer, a little ginseng, a little song, a little dance, we'll be rearin to go.
-Hey, wait a second. Why is it so bright in here? How is anyone meant to fuck when the lights are on? -There's nothing wrong with being a loser it just depends on how good you are at it.
-Mostly you get it from record company and merchandising people...People coming up to you and trying to bullshit with you all the time thinking that you're like friends or something. It's like No you're not my friend. You never were my friend.
-Never run in the rain with your socks on.
-I am the antichrist. Buy some more of me merchandise.
-There are nice guys trying to be assholes and assholes trying to be nice guys. I'm an asshole trying to be a nice guy.
-Throw mud at each other... see how many stupid things you can do to each other all at one time.
-Like in The Grouch. You start to feel like you're getting older, like a parent, like a dad now, but then there's that whole really cool side of it, like, Shit I get to play with toys and watch Saturday morning cartoons. I can't figure anything more fun or childish than that.
-One night I sank about eight gin and tonics, and I just couldn't stop pissing. In the end, I pissed all over the barbeque.
-Do you have a problem? I have a gun. I'll shoot you. No more problem.
-A lot of people said we were using punk rock as a stepping stone to get fame and fortune. People started called it "Gap punk." I didn't feel guilty. I felt like we were probably an introduction to a kid that's going to get into more punk rock music later on, and buy Black Flag records. That's a positive thing. There are a lot of kids now that are really active in the punk rock community, and it has to do with the fact that they got into Dookie.
-We wanted to kick people's asses. We loved playing festivals because we got to kick bands' asses every single night. There is not a band you can mention that we haven't kicked their ass on stage at one time or another.
-It [getting naked on stage] usually happens when the shows are sort of mediocre. It like when a show doesn't completely kick ass, you know? And the energy we're getting from the audience isn't too great, and the audience isn't getting good feedback from us. So I give them something to remember--even if it's not very big.
-This is no longer the Pop Disaster Tour. This is now Ozzfest.

Tre
-We've been on tour for some time now and I always look forward to fire, explosions.
-My first concert was The Mr. T Experience and Sweet Baby and Victim's Family and The Lookouts, and it was in a pizza parlor and I was in the first band so....and we sucked.
-Actually thats a stupid question, I didn't make it through high school!
-That's a bi-triple conlateral with a double twist and a 360 LMNOP wide zoo macro booty line.
-You can't pull out the gun and blow away the telly anymore when there's something on you don't like, 'cause the baby might be sleeping.
-We put in some serious fucking hours to be considered slackers.
-We were influenced of the opposite of usually influences are. We were influenced of what we hated -- all those mainstream 80's crap.
-Blew me away when that song got big. I was, like, whoa.
-Probably the nicest thing is that I've got a kid, and I've got security for her. She'll be able to go to college if she needs to or wants to. I couldn't have gone to college if I wanted to, so that's something.
-I want to be heard. I think seeing a band and having an image of a band is stupid. A band is a bunch of people and songs. The music is what makes a band memorable.
-Well we were first put together by our record company. We auditioned at the shopping mall and I was picked for my dancing abilities - I can do a head spin. Our first gig was at Disneyland.
-Don't fall in line with the pack unless you have to. We never have.

Mike
-No people come up to me and they say, 'Dude! Aren't you Tre Cool?' And I go 'No.' I love that man! I love that!
-Green Day is just like sex, when we are good, we are really good, and when we are bad... were still pretty damn good.
-I was watching that show Weekday Wings and there was this English airplane called the SS Nimrod, and I just thought it was funny because to me it means moron. It was a war jet too, which is hilarious, or a big war bomber. And I was thinking, Yeah, hunter. It means hunter; it means moron, same thing. Cool, you know. There's a lot of different meanings to it, and stuff, little innuendoes here and there. It's an X-men character, and all sorts of things.
-I just think it can't suck...whatever you do. You just have to make sure...it doesn't suck.
-What is a brief summary? We got six records out, been together for about twelve years, we're from Oakland, California. That's pretty brief.
-You got to have a life to write it...
-You can't expect any techno on it; you can't expect any scratching or anything like that. Rock'n'roll songs.
-You gotta make your own decisions and choices. It's not so much about what to think, it's just to think. Question everything.
-There is definitely more of a direction in any of the anger that's on this record. It's not just self-absorbed anger - it's actually thought out. It has purpose and direction in it. I think that anger can be a strength if you can figure something positive out of it. But if you just sit there and dwell on the negative it can be a weakness of yours. And this (Warning) has those strengths.
-The thing is other people make music and we make music. There's camaraderie in that alone...but that's about it. Nobody can really force you to buy the record. Our record company can try pretty hard and it's pretty evil what they can do. I mean I don't even know why we do interviews sometimes because I think our record explains any questions you could ask. It stands on its own, it really does.
-The campaign to elect Billie Joe and the anti-campaign, shows the ridiculousness of American politics and the absurdity of the amount of money and effort that they spent to make themselves up as big-time celebrities. It's more about that than any causes or about trying to make any changes to the world. They just want to be self-serving and manipulate.
